St. David’s School in Raleigh, NC seeks a dynamic school leader to become the next Athletics Director.

St. David’s is a Pre-K through 12th grade school, serving 670+ students in Raleigh North Carolina.   St. David’s is an independent school in the Episcopal school tradition that prepares young men and women for college and life by challenging them to excel in the vital areas of faith, virtue, and knowledge.

The Athletics Director is responsible for overseeing, managing, and coordinating all aspects of the school’s athletic program by providing strategic guidance, tactical direction, and comprehensive communication.

The Athletics Director serves as a member of the leadership team and reports directly to the Head of School. This year-round position begins July 2025.  Salary and benefits are competitive, and the work environment is collegial.

The Athletics Director will:

* Build, lead, and manage a team of coaches and staff in alignment with the St. David’s School mission and portrait of a graduate.
* Guide athletics department philosophy, culture, and strategy across all constituents
* Maintain Athletics policies and procedures
* Manage department budget
* Provide for all aspects of event management across campus facilities for three athletics seasons
* Communicate proactively and responsively with all constituents
* Ensure safety and security is prioritized within the athletics program
* Maintain and communicate the athletics schedule 
* Oversee other school programs and summer camps
* Manage all campus facilities rentals, reservations, and transportation needs
* Champion St. David’s School internally and externally, promoting athletics, cultivating school spirit, and building networks with community partners
* Work closely with the Warrior Club (boosters), other department directors, division principals, faculty and staff to deliver on our school’s mission and strategic priorities.  
* Lead strategic initiatives as directed by the Head of School


Requirements:

* An evident devotion to the Lord and a mature Christian faith 
* A bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred
* Five to seven years of proven success in Pre-K-12 athletics with experience successfully leading within a culture of athletics aligned with the St. David’s mission and portrait of a graduate 
* Experience in a senior administrative role overseeing direct reports, preferably in athletics
* Outstanding oral and written communication skills and diligent attention to detail
* A calling to invest in the lives of students and an imagination for contributing to a connected school community.
