Key Responsibilities

• Core Instruction: Design and deliver engaging, experiential, and integrated Social Studies lessons for grades 6–9.
• Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to create innovative, inquiry-based curricula that emphasize open-ended problem-solving, interdisciplinary projects, and critical thinking.
• Advisory Role: Serve as an academic advisor, supporting students’ emotional growth, organizational skills, and personal development.
• Collaboration: Work closely with grade-level, content area, and studio teachers to integrate learning experiences across subjects.
• Family Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents to share student progress, foster collaboration, and address concerns.
• Professional Engagement: Participate in professional development opportunities, faculty meetings, and division-wide initiatives.

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Studies, or a related field (required).
  • Advanced degree (M.A., M.Ed., or M.A.T.) preferred.
• Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years of lead teaching experience, preferably with middle-grade students.
  • Proven expertise in curriculum design and differentiation.
• Skills and Mindset:
  • Alignment with progressive educational principles and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Passion for fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a love of learning.
