New Garden Friends School, a Preschool-12 Friends School in Greensboro, NC, seeks a Math teacher for grades 7 through 12 for the 2025-2026 school year.

Qualifications:

  • A deep understanding of and a passion for teaching adolescents and teens
  • The ability to design innovative curriculum and excite students about learning
  • Experience and expertise in interacting with a diverse group of Upper School and/or Middle School students academically and socially/emotionally 
  • Experience using a variety of teaching techniques to instruct a diverse group of students with different abilities in the same classroom
  • A commitment to culturally responsive teaching and restorative practices
  • The ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers and administrators
  • A desire and ability to be collegial, flexible, and joyful in an energetic work environment
  • A commitment to the traditions and philosophy of a Quaker educational community, including Quaker values and social justice
  • Proficiency with technological tools for teaching, communication, and research

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares lesson plans, instructional aids, and supplemental teaching materials
  • Assesses, documents, and prepares reports such as narrative evaluations, grade and classroom performance, and attendance
  • Is a student advisor and participates in student development activities 
  • Holds one “office hour” per week outside of the regular school day
  • Participates in staff meetings, professional learning sessions, and conferences
  • Chaperones one to two yearly overnight trips
  • Provide consistent communication with parents/guardians

Required Education/Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree either in Math or in a field that closely relates to Math 
  • Teaching experience in Math or equivalent combination of education and experience
