This position is a full-time teaching position beginning August 2024.

 

Responsibilities: The Upper School History Teacher will report to the Head of Upper School and will be responsible for teaching four History classes to students in grades 9-12. Preference will be given to candidates with Advanced Placement history experience, Civics, World History, and/or U.S. History experience, as well as experience with Model United Nations. In addition to the normal teaching responsibilities, he/she will advise a group of 12 students, supervise a study hall for one semester, advise a club or organization, and perform periodic duty assignments (lunch, traffic, detention, etc.).  

 

Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree is required and three years or more of direct teaching experience in the field is required; a master’s degree is preferred. Candidates should have a strong academic background and possess proficient technology skills. The teacher should also demonstrate a professional commitment to cultural competency and a strong commitment to leading, learning, and teaching in a diverse community.  The candidate should have superb organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as a team member.
